Who would think one would find a fantastic forest-like trail to enjoy within the city, but we did! This little path of Zorinsky Lake provides us with two things we love; water and tree, glorious trees! The lake, round trip is near 8 miles. However, if you choose to take the western side of the lake it is 3. We did an out and back, netting 2.5 miles.
Kerri has been hurting, her hip giving her constant aches and at times, more often that she likely says and more often that I’d like to share, sharp pains attack both hips. I was beyond proud of her as she set an appointment with a Orthopedic Doctor to see what is going on and we had we can do. They X-rayed and confirmed that she does have hip dysplasia. No arthritis though which is good. MRI is scheduled for after our honeymoon so more info and next steps are a bit far in the future.
This weekend, she took a few extra ibuprofen and declared that she wanted to set out on a walk. My heart was full, yet cautious.
We got to the lake and decided to take it slow, stopping as needed. It was glorious and necessary; nothing fills up my cup like walking with my wife. Our talks, holding hands, kissing on all the bridges (and various spots in between) and just being out in nature.

We agreed on this walk that no matter what comes with her hips and the future that I would happily ensure these walks continue; even if it is me pushing, pulling or giving piggyback rides. She ain’t heavy, she’s my world!
